For importers and project buyers, freight is a large part of the landed cost. Knowing in advance how many units fit into a container helps you plan orders, compare offers and avoid paying to ship empty space.
Common container types
- 20' DC (dry container): about 5.9 m long inside — for smaller orders
- 40' DC: about 12 m long — roughly double the floor space
- 40' HC (high cube): the same length as a 40' DC with about 30 cm more height
- Truck (road transport): often used for shipments within Europe and neighbouring countries
Loading quantities per model
Each FROSTECH specification sheet states how many units of that model fit in a 20' DC, 40' DC, 40' HC and a truck. These figures are based on the packed size of the unit, so they are the most reliable starting point for planning.
Mixed shipments
Most orders combine several models. A simple way to estimate a mixed load is to add up, for each model, the ordered quantity divided by its loading quantity. A total of 1.0 means one full container; 1.6 means you need two, with the second one about 60 % full. This is exactly how the container estimate in our quote list works.
Tips
- Fill the last container: adding a few units often costs little extra in freight
- Keep island and upright units in the same shipment when they belong to the same project
- Ask our team to confirm the final loading plan before you book the container
